Rocester
Juniors Green 1-2 Rolleston White
What a good start to an early morning, Lewis took control of the
ball early on in the game, passed across to Jonny who then swiftly
with his right foot knocked it over to Cameron in midfield, who
tried to keep the ball in our possesion. He was tackled forcefully
by the opposition who proceeded with force to take it through our
midfield, he took a shot for the goal, and Dilly just managed to
catch it with both hands.
Jonny had some
nifty footwork on the pitch today, with some going to his advantage,
again a nice pass to Cameron, who passed to Josh down the wing,
he managed very well to keep the opposition at bay, until one came
sneaking past, and crossed it in front of our goalie, and the ball
just went wide of the goal.
Callum was
playing a blinder down the right mid, he was there to support the
defence, and when the ball was on his feet, he dribbled sweetly
down to the forwards (you're coming on a treat lad).
Substitution
- Harry for Jonny
Rocester took
control of the ball and had another shot of goal,Luckily our ''chopper'
(Charlie) was on form yet again, he managed to get a touch on the
ball and kicked it away.
Substitution
- Callum for Kyle
Time for Rolleston
to take charge, Jordan was solid in defence taken a swift tackle,
proceeded to fly past 2 of the players, over to Charlie, who was
relaxed and controlled, looked up, knew where he wanted to pass
it, over to Lewis, his speed down the line, to Kyle with his wonderful
left foot knocked it over to Josh. Thats what you call football
lads, That looked pretty damn good, you were in control, you were
relaxed and in charge, keep it up.
Rolleston proceeded to take control of the ball, with Jordan taking
a beautiful kick down the middle of the pitch, which seemed to land
right on the end of Dans foot, who then realised he had the opportunity
to go for goal, took it, but it just knocked the left post, bad
look Dan, nice try. The goalie took his kick, Charlie took the force
of it, for him to bring the ball nicely down off his chest to his
foot, for him to sweetly drop it in the back of the net !!!!! Nice
one Chopper.
2nd Half
Rolleston took
possession again, Charlie had the ball at his feet, he went to score,
and it went just over the top of the goal. The goalie took his kick
for it to be in Dans path, he realised he too had the chance to
take a shot at goal, it hit the keeper and rebounded off him straight
into Camerons path, he swung his right foot and bang, right in the
back of the net!! Cameron throughout the second half along with
Dan and Jack went to score for them to be saved by the keeper. But
the pleasing thing is, it was good football to watch, they were
working as a team, I cannot single any one player out and say they
did not work well, they all thought about the game they were playing
today, using space and careful thought.
Dilly had quite
a busy 10 minutes during the second half, Rocester were putting
the pressure on him, at one point they had a couple of opportunitys
to score, but Dilly as always was there to save the day, he sprung
off his spot like a jack in the box,to save the ball.
Substitution-
Kyle for Lewis
The play went
quiet for both teams, neither putting to much pressure on, we were
trying to rally ours on, its not over till the final whistle, anything
can happen in 5 minutes.
The final whistle
went, we were relieved we had won the game,!! hip hip hooray, it
was about time, those lads deserved it, and so did Pete and Ryan.
Scorers:
- Charlie
'chopper' Tunstall
- Cameron

Rolleston
White 0-2 Newhall Cougars
This was our first match of the season, and we went out with a positive
attitude and a strong will. Dan Fryer made his debut with the team,
along with Jonny Hunt and what a performance they both gave, well
done lads you will both be assets to the team.
The whistle
went, and off we go, Dan took control of the ball, passing out to
Kyle down the wing, but it got kicked out by Newhall. Kyle took
the throw in with Jonny playing a good header to Jack, who was tackled
by a Newhall player he and put the ball out of play.
It's fair to
say that there were a lot of tackles from both teams resulting in
the ball going out of play. Both teams were showing a lot of determination
and neither were giving up, we definately had a battle on our hands!
Jonny made
a cracking tackle and passed to Charlie, that lad was the boss of
the ball, no-one was getting past this defender today, we didn't
give him the nickname Chopper for nothing!
In
defence was Josh who was also on the ball, this lad was not letting
the opposition get that ball off him, Newhall took the easy route
and kicked it out.
Newhall made
some cracking tackles and clearly were not giving up the fight to
get the ball back. In midfield Jordan was like a brick wall, he
was solid, again there was no getting past this guy, our defence
was on form today, they were amazing !
There was some
great passing from Jonny to Jack then over to Kyle on the wing,
good control from all lads. Our passing skill from all the boys
has definatley come on. Dilly also made some amazing saves in the
first half, in my opinion, that kid is the best goalkeeper in all
the divisions!
The 2nd half
started with our kick off, but Newhall then took possession, Chopper
stuck his foot in and made a good tackle, passing the ball over
towards Cam, who was like a terrier trying to get the ball back
into our possession, he succeeded and then took it down the middle,
only for him to be tackled by Newhalls number 11. It went for a
corner kick, but well done Dilly good save!
Newhall then
had a long period of possession, there was no stopping them now,
we couldn't get a look in and when they had the opportunity to strike
again they took it, and what a save by Dilly (such a star!). Cameron,
Jonny and Charlie then got to work, moving the ball over to Cal,
he's another keen tackler not afraid to get stuck in and work for
the team. Kyle had a couple of strikes at goal in the second half,
but unfortunatley one was saved and the other just slightly wide.
Newhall scored, it was a very good goal by their side, well done
Newhall.
Our lads played
well and deserved at least one goal, but never mind, well done.
